How stuff works?

CD

A compact disc usually holds audio data. When you buy a CD from the store the disc is recorded in .cda audio format. Most CD players read .cda some made now a days work with MP3 files (MPEG-3 Layer Audio) and WMA Files (Windows Media Audio). CD's come in many diffrent formats like CD-ROM (Compact Disc ROM) CD-R (Compact Disc Recordable) CD-RW (Compact Disc Re-Writeable)

Mini Hi-Fi Component Systems

A Mini Hi-Fi Component System is a compact system that has 2 Hi-Fi speakers and usually CD player, iPod dock and Tuner. If its mini it usually has 4 OHMS and 5 watt speakers. If its compact (larger) its usually 6 OHMS and 120 watt speakers. Mini ones are for bedrooms and bookshelfs. Compact ones are for big spaces like living room computer room. They are a great addition to your media lifestyle.

Boomboxes

A boombox is a mini stereo that you can take anywhere, anytime. Cheap boomboxes are usually 8 OHMS and 1.5 watts Big ones are 8 OHMS and 50 watts. They usually come with a CD player, Radio and iPod Dock They plug into the wall or take C or D battery, both batterys are found at the dollarstore.

DVD/VCR Combos

DVD/VCR combos are cheap and save space by being in one little box. The DVD side plays and some of them record DVD's, they also play CD's but does not record. The VCR side plays and records VHS it also plays SVHS tapes but do not record. They come a great adition to our multimedia lifestyle.
